2018 Lessons From A Fallen Empire Preview (Apocalyptic Fantasy)

The Plot: Prince Dagan, child heir to the omnipotent Sky Empire, awakens after a devastating alien attack leaves his world in ruins. Dagan encounters other survivors and learns the planet's been sapped of magical energy, though his own abilities remain intact. Together, they vow to rebuild, though the planet's overrun with violent ghouls born from the corrupted remains of slaughtered spellcasters.

Further complications arise as the dark history of Dagan's tyrannical mother causes friction among survivors who aren't ready to accept a peace offering from a member of the Sky family--especially when Dagan's mother brought destruction to them all. Meanwhile, the same dark shadow that annihilated the planet still lurks, searching for the reawakened Dagan.
